The judicial vicar is the presiding officer in charge of the diocesan tribunal. The tribunal is the local court in every diocese set up to hear cases which involve the violation of church law or the rights of the faithful. The work of all church courts is done under sworn confidentiality and with respect for the privacy of all people.
