Valeria Dubourdieu was born and raised in Uruguay. She graduated from the Catholic University of Uruguay with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and has worked as a teacher for 15 years, both in Uruguay and in the United States.
In 2011, Valeria graduated with four Units from Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and became a Chaplain. She served in two hospitals providing spiritual support, presence and pastoral counseling to patients, families and hospital staff. She is currently pursuing a Master degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University.
She enjoys facilitating workshops, seminars, and retreats for personal and spiritual growth. As a Hispanic who is knowledgeable about that culture, she now extends these services in Spanish speaking clients here in South Texas. Valeria intends to continue to serve God’s people, especially those feeling lonely, anxious, or depressed.
Valeria and her husband Alexis, have three beautiful sons. They attend Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay City, Texas. Their oldest son Philippe is a seminarian for the Diocese of Victoria, discerning the call to the priesthood at Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College, LA.
