During a joint press conference at 9:30 a.m. today (Dec. 21), Sister Kathleen Goike, Superior General of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, and the Rev. Kristopher Fuchs, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, announced the sale of the building by the Sisters to the church. The IWBS Sisters had put the building up for sale a little more than five years ago because it was not feasible for them to try to continue to keep up the 44,000-square-foot building. When St. Mary's decided to make an offer on the building, it was a relief for the Sisters and the Catholic community that the building will continue to be a Catholic Institution.
